Welcome to the University of Illinois - Tucson Illini Club website. The Tucson Illini Club is a social organization. We sponsor events and activities in the greater Tucson area. Although the club has been in existence for many years, the website is new. We welcome your comments and suggestions concerning the website. With over 1100 University of Illinois Alumni in the Tucson area we are currently in the process of increasing our membership and expanding our activities. Again we welcome your suggestions. Norm Beasley, Mary Jane Beasley and Louis Liay

One of the major highlights of 2007 was having two of our members, Norm and Mary Jane Beasley awarded the Louis Liay Spirit Award. It is bestowed upon alumni of the University of Illinois who have consistently demonstrated extraordinary loyalty, commitment, dedication and service to the University of Illinois Alumni Association and/or its constituent and affiliated groups for the betterment of the University of Illinois, and whose name and achievements have become synonymous with their alma mater. The award was presented by University of Alumni President Loren Taylor during a post game reception after the Homecoming football game.  The Tucson Illini Club is honored to have the Beasleys as long time loyal members, past president and board members. We congratulate them and appreciate all they have done for the University and our club.

There is frequently confusion between the University of Illinois Alumni Association (UIAA) and the Tucson Illini Club. "Many members of the Tucson Illini Club are also members of the University of Illinois Alumni Association, which provides services to our club such as scholarship matching funds and speakers from the campus.
